I won’t bore you with the details of the countless scientific studies that have irrefutably demonstrated the massive importance of sleep for both fat loss and muscle building.

In a nutshell, our bodies are primed to secrete the largest pulses of Growth Hormone during so-called “deep sleep”. If you don’t sleep adequately, you simply don’t get enough Growth Hormone and you will NEVER achieve the body that you want. Fat loss and optimal body composition will become extraordinarily challenging. We give our personal training clients a tonne of strategies for improving the quality of their sleep. These include a range of specific supplements, addressing digestion issues, and making every effort to turn your bedroom into the Batcave – no light, no noise, no disturbances!

If you want to optimise your body composition, lose fat and be as lean as possible, and / or build some muscle and shape, then you must adopt the following mantra that I give to all my personal training clients – “sleep is not a luxury, it is a necessity”.
